Dr Suchethan Rangaswamy 

 

Dr. Suchethan Rangaswamy was born on 18th June 1979 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He began learning Carnatic Vocal music at the age of four. His initial training was under his mother Smt. Suma Rangaswamy and later under various gurus Like Vid. Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar, Vid. Smt. M.S. Vidya and Karnataka Kalashree Vid. P. Ramaa for a period of almost eight years. His skills were further sharpened under Padmabhushana Vid. Dr. R.K. Srikantan and Kalaimamani Vid. P. Unnikrishnan. Constant training under them led to innovations and blending of tradition and modernity in Suchethan’s singing as he continues to learn from Vid. Unnikrishnan.

 

Dr. Suchethan Rangaswamy is also trained to play the Veena by Vid. Smt. T. Sharada and Ganakalabhushana Vid. Smt. Dr. Suma Sudhindra.

 

Dr. Suchethan is an accomplished anchor, RJ and TV actor. He has acted in many teleserials and anchored many prestigious stage shows. He is known for his natural acting skills in teleserials like Mukta mukta, Chitralekha, Putta gowri maduve, Anuraagasangama and Nagini.

He has worked in the production of many events here and abroad. Television awards, Bangalore International arts festival, Tarangini festival, Marathons for social cause, Short film awards to name a few.

 

He has been a sought after teacher not just for music, but also for speech. He also specialises in voice culture. He, in fact, is a professor in music and holds a PhD in voice culturing (“Voice culture - the lesser known secrets”) from the University of Swahili. He has many students who have made it big in the contemporary music and visual field.

 

Apart from acting to a set script, Dr. Suchethan takes over a very crucial, critical role in the very popular reality show - Saregamapa which is aired on Zee Kannada. He is the official mentor for the contestants on the show and one of the major reason for the successful seasons with highest TRP all through.

 

Styles of Singing

Although he has been trained hardcore in Carnatic classical music, he has mastered techniques native to other styles of music on his own accord. This has given him an added  pointer for being in the A list of musicians who can blend both traditional and creative forms of music. He has drawn considerable influence from Jazz, Western classical, light music, film music and Hindustani classical music.

Requirements for an online class and fee

1. a good wifi connection 
2. register through site to establish payment method 25$ per class.

Fees to be payed every month before or on 5th of every month. 
The classes will be carnatic vocal music and light music like devotional songs and bhaavageethe/ kanbada poetry ( no filmy music ) 
The duration of the class will be about 20 to 25 mins per student 
the classes will be one on one only.
weekly one class on a fixed day. prefer a week day . pls check if friday evening works.
the students should come to skype class center. all updates will be only through wats app messages.
